The CKI at TUM initiates and moderates major research cooperation projects between TUM and Siemens, supports talent management and develops tailor-made cooperation mechanisms between the company and the university.

In 2001, the CKI was co-founded by both partners to promote and intensify cooperation with each other. The CKI brings together practical experience, know-how and expertise to create innovations faster.
The CKI embodies a best practice example for a long-term strategic collaboration between a leading industrial company and one of the world's leading universities. It is thus one of the central formats of the university cooperation, by means of which the Siemens AG pursues open innovation.
